THE WESTERN FRONT OF WORLD WAR ONE

ARRAS

One Day Standard Tour

At 0900hrs your guide will collect you at Arras Station. We will meet you at the glass doors.

We travel to VIMY RIDGE, to experience the preserved trenches and battlefield, and the majestic CANADIAN MEMORIAL to her dead of the Great War. Following this we visit the RING OF REMEMBERANCE, that lists all those buried or commemorated in the departments of the Nord and Pas de Calais. 580,000 names are listed in alphabetical order, regardless of Nationality or Rank. On route back to Arras we stop off at the massive NEUVILLE ST VAAST GERMAN CEMETERY, before visiting the CARRIER WELLINGTON UNDERGROUND QUARRIES, where we look at the Allies’ 1917 attack on the German Hindenburg Line.

A chance for you to have lunch and explore the wonderful Medieval 'Place des Heroes' in Arras.

In the afternoon we visit the battlefields surrounding BULLECOURT, DIGGER AND CROSS MEMORIALS, then visit BULLECOURT MUSEUM, finally dropping you off in Arras at 1700hrs.
